A simple, self-made furniture system using only planks, screws, and brackets. Planka explores how furniture can be made as simply as possible. Using only dry-graded construction wood, the system requires straight cuts and angled brackets mounted with screws. Inspired by Enzo Mari’s idea of self-creation (autoprogettazione), it allows for experimentation with proportions, enabling chairs, stools, and other pieces to be made from the same method. The angled brackets create a comfortable seating angle while also defining the silhouette. Developed with Blue Ocean Closures, the project used their wood-based, recyclable biocomposite for the brackets.
