Brutum

Furniture, chair, conceptual

2025

A furniture system designed to outlast fast-furniture culture through strength, repairability, and timeless form. Brutum emerged from a critical study of fast furniture and its environmental costs: poor materials, short lifespans, and unrepairable construction. The project instead proposes a system built for durability, recyclability, and repair. Its structure is made of bare, waxed steel, while the upholstery attaches magnetically, avoiding glue and fasteners. Every part can be removed, replaced, or recycled, giving the pieces potentially indefinite lifespans. Aesthetically, Brutum embraces an elegant brutalism — minimal, robust, and timeless.
