Datum is constructed from standard pine construction timber, using massive sections arranged through a structural yet sculptural logic. Rather than concealing the dimensional qualities of the material, the design allows weight, thickness and joinery to define its expression. Built from ordinary stock material with minimal transformation, the project investigates how construction logic can become an aesthetic language, balancing function, proportion and object-like presence.
